Dort wurde mithilfe einer produktbezogen Transportkettenanalyse nachgewiesen, wohin Globalisierung und das Streben nach immer mehr Effizienz eigentlich das Wirtschaften getrieben hat. So legt ein einzelner Joghurtbecher, bevor er im Regal des Supermarktes steht, einen Weg von knapp 10.000 km zurück.

Den größten Beschleuniger bei dem pattern wieder vermehrt regionale Produkte zu kaufen lieferte dann die Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise, die zeigte wie krisenanfällig eigentlich das procedure geworden ist und wie schnell es auch zusammenbrechen kann.
